Brown Academy is located in Long Island, NY amid some of the nation’s top high schools, namely: Great Neck South High School, Great Neck North H.S., Manhasset H.S., Jericho H.S.

In the summer of 2012, Yeanam Kim (commonly referred to as Mrs. Kim ) and Yong Kim (also known as Mr. Kim) decided to open an academy that dedicates itself to the academic success of students in New York. Mrs. Kim was known in the neighborhood in South Korea as the Best English Teacher of Jam-won-dong and Mr. Kim also had an elaborate business background in Korea and China. The Brown Academy was born from years of knowledge gained by Mr. and Mrs. Kim who have two children that went through a long and arduous process of college admission. Charles graduated from Middle School 67Q, Great Neck South H.S., and Brown University; while, Angela graduated from Great Neck South Middle and High School and matriculated at Harvard in Fall 2012. Charles and Angela strongly believe that Mr. and Mrs. Kim’s involvement and guidance through their children’s education in Great Neck led to both their successes.

Together, Mr. and Mrs. Kim cooperate a successful educational facility that guides its students to colleges of their dreams through college consultations and classes that teach SAT I, SAT II subject tests, and AP courses.

Current Programs After School (4th to 12 Grade)

Homework help and preparations for the school tests–primary focus is on math and English as well as ESL help. Earth Science

With the help of a current teacher, students are well prepared for their bi-weekly exams in school and the Regents. SAT I

Scores are highly demanded by summer programs including Johns Hopkins Univ for its Summer program. We try to give students the best preparation to give them a chance to be admitted to the summer programs they desire. Minimum of 200 point improvement is our goal. About 98% of all our past and previous students have achieved this goal. Full exam is administered each month to develop the patience they need to master the exam and assess their improvements. Each year numerous students from Brown Academy achieve 800/800 in Math IIC, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. AP Course (private or group sessions)/ Olympiad Exam Preparation

Biology, Chemistry, Calculus AB & BC, Chinese, Economics, Latin, Physics, Spanish, US & World History. Often, these classes also prepare students for Olympiad exams in February. AMC (American Mathematics Competition)

National Math exam administered to students strong in Math. Broken down to 8th, 10th, and 12th grades. Every year, we have students who pass AMC to proceed to AIME and a few even moved to USAMO. Lab Experience

Students are paired with a lab nearby to compete for national competitions like Siemens Competition and Intel Science Talent Search

브라운 아카데미는 뉴욕의 롱아일랜드에 위치하고 있으며, 주변 학교로는 Great Neck South, North, MS 67, Manhasset, Jericho High Schol 등 명문학교들이 위치하고 있다.

강남에서의 학원을 운영해 왔던 바탕을 가지고 미국 유학 생활을 통해 유학생이 힘들어 했던 부분들, 그리고 아들, Charles 가 브라운 대학의 Pre-Med 에 입학하기까지의 노하우들, 그외에 현재 10학년의 학생을 가르치면서 아이가 힘들어 하는 부분들을 종합하면서, 아이들을 위한 학원, 그리고 그 아이들에게 실질적으로 도움을 줄 수 있는 진정한 학원을 바라는 많은 이들의 바램속에 이 학원이 태어나게 되었다.

After School, ESL 등 학교에서의 수업에 충실하기 위한 기본적인 프로그램은 물론, 궁극적인 대학으로의 가는 길을 올바르게 인도하고자, 주니어를 위한 SAT I 부터 고등학생의 SAT I, II, AP course, 등 현직 고등학교 선생님을 중심으로 모든 원생들이 하나되어 열심으로 공부하는 학원, 최소 200점이상의 증진을 목표로 하는 학원을 가꾸어 나가, 희망하는 대학에 성공할 수 있도록 컬리지 Consultant 를 통해 성공할 수 있도록 최선을 다하는 학원으로 가꾸어보고자 한다. After School (2nd to 12 Grade): Homework help and prepartions for the school tests. 영어, 수학을 집중하면서 ESL 을 포함한다.

Earth Science: 학생들이 어려워 하는 과목을 특별 개설하여 현직 선생님과 함께 공부.

SAT I and II: Johns Hopkins Univ. 의 Summer program외에 각종 summer program 에서 SAT I 성적을 요구, 성적을 최대한 올려서, 희망하는 프로그램에 입학을 시키고자 함.

SAT I : .최소 200점 이상의 증진을 목표로 하며, 현재까지 98% 이상이 이 목표에 부응하고 있음.

SAT I 모의고사반: 거의 매달 SAT I 시험에 대비하고자, 매주 금요일 실제와 같은 시험을 가지고 실제 상황과 같은 시험 환경으로 시험을 봄으로 수험생의 부담을 덜어줌.

SAT II: Math II C, Biology, Chemistry, Physics 매 기마다 다수의 800점 만점배출.

AP course: Economics, Math II C, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, World History, Latin, Chinese, Spanish 등 Private 도 가능.

AMC(8,10,12): American Mathematics Competition 수학에 재능이 있는 학생들을 위한 프로그램. 매년 다수의 통과자 배출.

Science Olympiad 반 개설: 원하는 학생들을 위해 대학교의 Lab 을 연결하여 학생이 연구를 함으로서 시멘스나 인텔에 시험을 볼 수 있도록 함.

이와는 별도로 현재, 한국에서 이곳에 공부를 하고자 하는 학생들을 위한 프로그램 역시 가동중이다.

특히 기본이 바탕이 되는 학생들을 중심으로 아이비 리그를 목표로 하는 반을 편성하여, 제 1기의 학생들이 그러했듯이, 제 2기 역시 심혈을 기울여 성공에 임하여 명실 상부 미국 제 일의 학원을 세워 나가는 것을 목표로 한다.
